The Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) earlier this week conducted an induction session for new seconded staff from the State Department for Industry, marking another step in strengthening collaboration in the fight against counterfeiting.
The induction was attended by ACA Executive Director Dr. Robi M. King'a, PhD, members of the Authority’s management team, and the incoming representatives, who will serve across various departments: Enforcement, Research & Policy, and Strategy, Planning & Quality Assurance.
The session provided an opportunity to familiarize the new staff members with ACA’s mandate, strategic priorities, and the critical role they will play in supporting efforts to combat counterfeiting and protect consumers, businesses, and intellectual property rights.
Speaking during the induction, the Executive Director welcomed the newly inducted members and underscored the importance of collaboration in addressing the evolving counterfeit trade. He noted that the diverse expertise brought by the new staff from the State Department for Industry will strengthen ACA’s work in policy development, enforcement coordination, and strategic planning.
Members of the management team also engaged the new staff, highlighting the responsibilities of the various departments and emphasizing the need for teamwork, professionalism, and a shared commitment to safeguarding legitimate trade.
The induction reflects the Authority’s continued commitment to fostering strong institutional partnerships and ensuring that members serving within its structures are well equipped to contribute effectively to the fight against counterfeit goods in Kenya.
