The Anti-Counterfeit Authority has received reports of persons posing as Anti-Counterfeit inspectors targeting business owners and soliciting money pretending to enforce the Anti-Counterfeit Act.
The code of conduct for Anti-Counterfeit Inspector is always to:
- Inspectors shall provide full particulars to identify themselves to the public when inspecting a premises
- Present the "Certificate of Authority" identification card
- They should indicate from which regions for clarification.
Please note that:
- The National Identification card details should match with the "Certificate of Authority" issued by the Authority.
- If the "inspector" is unable to provide the above, please contact us through the contacts below or contact the nearest police station.
An Anti-Counterfeit Authority Inspector DOES NOT:
- Ask for money or accept payment for any form of services during his or her work.
Impersonation of a public officer is a criminal offense. Anyone found impersonating as an inspector or any government employee is guilty of a felony crime.
