The Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) is leading an ongoing multi-agency enforcement operation in Makindu, Makueni County, targeting suspected counterfeit alcoholic beverages.
The operation brings together ACA enforcement officers and security agencies in a coordinated effort to disrupt the trade in counterfeit products and protect consumers from potentially unsafe goods.
ACA is receiving support from the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), Makindu; the Sub-County Police Commander; the Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer; and the Sub-County Administration Police Service (APS) Commander.
During the operation, enforcement teams have seized quantities of alcoholic beverages suspected to be counterfeit, including various products packaged in 250ml bottles.
The coordinated enforcement action underscores the importance of inter-agency collaboration in tackling the counterfeit trade, particularly products that may pose risks to consumers while undermining legitimate manufacturers and businesses.
ACA continues to undertake enforcement operations across the country as part of its mandate to combat counterfeiting and protect consumers, businesses and the Kenyan economy.
The Authority urges members of the public to exercise caution when purchasing alcoholic beverages and other products, and to report suspected counterfeit goods through its established reporting channels
