
ACA Hosts APRA and PRSK Delegation, Explores Strategic Collaboration for APRA@50 Conference

1st April 2025, Nairobi. The Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) hosted a high-level delegation from the African Public Relations Association (APRA) and the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK), led by APRA President Mr. Arik Karani. The visit was a formal invitation for ACA’s participation in the upcoming APRA@50 Conference, scheduled for June 9-13, 2025, in Mombasa, Kenya, under the theme “Transforming Africa Through Safe and Responsible Digital Communications.”
ACA Executive Director Dr. Robi Mbugua Njoroge welcomed the delegation and affirmed ACA’s commitment to forging partnerships that elevate public awareness and foster responsible communication. “We recognize the pivotal role of public relations in shaping the narrative around counterfeiting and IP rights protection across Africa,” Dr. Mbugua said.
Mr. Karani emphasized APRA’s vision of uniting communicators to advance development through strategic messaging. “As APRA marks 50 years, we seek to bring together institutions like ACA whose work is crucial in protecting consumers and enabling safe markets,” he stated.
APRA Vice President Prof. Michele Mekeme, Secretary General Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan, PRSK Vice President Ms. Patricia Ndede, and Secretary General Ms. Noella Mutanda were also present.
The visit set the stage for continued collaboration as ACA and APRA explore joint opportunities to amplify Africa’s voice on critical development issues.
