ACA Feted for Exemplary Performance in Upholding National Values and Cohesion

The Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) has been awarded the prestigious Certificate of Exemplary Performance by the Directorate of National Cohesion and Values for its unwavering dedication to adhering to the 2022-2023 financial year performance contracting guidelines on national values and principles of governance.

The Awards, a symbol of national pride and unity, is coordinated by the Executive Office of the President, in compliance with the national values and principles of governance as articulated in Article 10(2) of the Kenyan constitution.

Under this constitutional provision, all state organs are mandated to integrate and uphold a set of values and principles in their operations and policy-making. These core principles encompass patriotism, national unity, the equitable distribution of power, adherence to the rule of law, democratic governance, participation of the people, the preservation of human dignity, promotion of equity, social justice, inclusiveness, equality, human rights, non-discrimination, and safeguarding the rights of marginalized groups. Additionally, these values encompass good governance, integrity, transparency, accountability, and a commitment to sustainable development.

At the award ceremony held at the ACA headquarters, Mr. Josiah Musili, the Secretary of National Cohesion & Values congratulated the Authority for this year’s outstanding performance saying, "The ACA's commitment to national values and principles is commendable, and their dedication serves as a shining example for other organizations in Kenya. We appreciate their significant role in nurturing a society based on integrity, accountability, and social justice."

Receiving the Award Anti-Counterfeit Authority Executive Director Dr. Robi Mbugua Njoroge was accompanied by the Chair of the ACA Management team for National Cohesion and Values Mrs. Agnes Karingu and committee members among other members of staff.

Dr. Robi Mbugua expressed his gratitude for the award and recognition saying, "This recognition has patriotism significance. It reflects dedication to our core values and principles. Upholding these ideals is not just a duty but a commitment that we take to heart in safeguarding the interests of the Kenyan people and fostering a harmonious society."

ACA remains committed in promoting national values and cohesion, as it continues to protect consumers and the economy against counterfeit goods, contributing to a safer and more prosperous Kenya. This recognition reinforces the Authority's dedication to its mission and exemplifies its pivotal role in safeguarding the interests of the Kenyan people.
