The Anti-Counterfeit Authority has been re-awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Certification at a handover ceremony held on December 1, 2022, at Its headquarters in Nairobi.  

The Executive Director of the Anti-Counterfeit Authority Dr. Robi Njoroge Mbugua who was accompanied by staff and Senior members of management received the Award. Speaking at the Ceremony, he said that “This is a very important achievement for the Authority and I wish to applaud members of staff for continuously embracing the quality management system in services provision.” he said.

The Kenya Bureau of Standard National Quality Unit conducted audits of the Authority's Quality Management System (QMS) in November 2021 and March this year and found it to be compliant with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 leading to its recertification.  

In his congratulatory remarks, the Head of the National Quality Unit Mr. Charles Maru spoke on behalf of the KEBS Managing Director, Lt Col (Rtd.) Bernard Njiraini said ACA's commitment to implementing the standard was a demonstration of commitment to customer satisfaction and continual improvement. ‘Choosing to be certified does not only prove commitment to best practice, but also that excellence matters to the Authority” he said.  

The ACA Executive Director reiterated the Authority’s commitment to quality and promised to provide the necessary support towards improved customer satisfaction by providing quality objectives and policies towards executing ACA’s mandate of prohibiting counterfeit trade through Research, awareness, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders and enforcement of Intellectual Property rights.   

Mr. Maru thanked the Authority for partnering with the KEBS in the “journey of excellence” and reminded the authority that ISO 9001:2015 certification was just the beginning and that the Authority needed to continue providing quality services and improving on all aspects to meet international standards and exceed customer expectations.
