Anti-Counterfeit agency announce plans to lay out harsher penalties
The Anti Counterfeit Agency in conjunction with the government announced plans to lay out harsher penalties for those caught smuggling illegal products into the country. According to a report by the standard, the rapid growth of the counterfeit industry is robbing the country of over 30 billion Kenya shillings in annual revenue. Furthermore, an estimated four million Kenyans are currently consuming these counterfeit products, posing serious threats not only to their health but also the security and economy of the country.
